Luxembourg layout - Skissedilla #177

Hello again!

As I said yesterday, my mojo is back... And finally I did a layout from my latest trip to Luxembourg last August. Here it is:

The main materials are from a Studio Calico kit. A small detail that I really enjoyed are the three small arrows at the top left, and that's because I combined two favourite materials of mine: wood veneer and washi tape. I just hope they stay where they are..

The layout is based on Skissedilla's #177 sketch:

I hope you like it!

A magical weekend

Finally I think I've really found my mojo back, both for creating and for blogging!

So today I wanted to share with you something that I've done a few weeks ago. The post title has been borrowed by Puccarina's post titles and it is no coincidence.

A few weeks ago I was so lucky to be invited for a weekend by this amazing girl that I've met via internet and her creations. Whatever she does, the result brings to my mind two words: "sweet!" (like, really, really cute!) and "beautiful". Felt creations, cards, layouts, you name it... I like everything she makes sooooo much!

When I met her in person, I wasn't surprised to find out that she is as sweet as her creations. So I was really, really happy when she invited me at her place in Aliartos for a weekend to play with our new hobby - art journaling and mixed media. If you haven't seen the gorgeous things she made during that weekend, do visit her blog here and here!

I wasn't as productive as she was, but today I am going to share with you (most of) my creations that weekend.

First, the mixed media canvas that already hangs on my living room's wall. I enjoyed sooo much making him, mainly because I was with Puccarina!

The second one is a papier mache start that I decorated with Zentangle... tangles. It has also found its place on my living room's wall. This was the last thing that I made towards the end of the weekend and really helped me to relax (even more!) and find the courage to travel back to Athens :(

My dear-dear Puccarina, thank you soooo much for the amazing hospitality... I hope we repeat it soon!

Hugs,
Anastasia

Get Creative - Card sketch challenge September 20th

Hello again!

Lately I don't post as often as I would have liked. You see, we are preparing the double christening for my two nephews (I'll be a godmother again!) and I don't have as much time and/or mojo.

BUT... today we have a new card sketch challenge over at Get Creative with the following sketch:

As soon as I saw the sketch I liked it sooo much and I thought that it was a great chance to finally use the Tim Holtz die cut that has been gathering dust lately. So here's the card that I made:

It's been a while since I last used my favourite Paper Smooches stamps... Isn't this little chicken the cutest ever?

And a close-up photo:

So why don't you come over at Get Creative to get inspiration from the design team and play with us... You can link your card until September 29th. The winner will come back as Guest Designer for Get Creative in November!!!

Hugs,
Anastasia

Happy News! - Scrapbooking in Greece

Hello!

Today I have to share some wonderful news with you... I am part of the new design team for Scrapbooking in Greece! I am sooo happy to have the opportunity to work along with the rest of the super-talented team:

Vicky Varvadouka
Of course, don't forget the lady behind Scrapbooking in Greece who is organising everything - Katerina Laiopoulou. I feel really lucky because I've had the pleasure to meet all the ladies in the past and, apart from being very talented - I admire them all, and I don't just say that to say something, it is the truth! -, they are also wonderful people and the main reason why I am so happy that I have this hobby...

So, to the point. We have the first challenge after the summer holidays (well, for some!). The theme is "Summer is still here" and the sketch is the following:

...And of course summer is still here, just as I'm writing these lines, I am on my summer holidays at the wonderful island of Lesvos! :D I also prepared this layout a few days ago, while on holidays:

As a result, as you may notice, I haven't used and pre-made embellishment... what would I take with me on holidays? A couple of stamps, a couple of paper pads... a set of thicker letters and that's it. You can see at the bottom of the post how limited are the supplies that I have used.

So all the embellishments are made with paper piecing, either from stamped images, or I doodled them myself (the sun and the little boat).

As I didn't have the opportunity to print any photos while I was in the beautiful village of Molyvos that you can see on the photo... I just used a cart postal ;o) So that's why I called the layout "Scrappy holidays".

I hope you like it!

Why don't you come over at Scrapbooking in Greece for some amazing inspiration by the design team. The winner will get this present from Aliki (I'm so jealous!)

We are really looking forward to see your creations over at our gallery, Blog  or even our facebook page!!!!

Hugs,

Anastasia

Get Creative - September 5 card challenge

Hello from the beautiful island of Lesvos!!!

Yes, yes, finally, the time for my holidays has come! When most people come back from their holidays, it's my turn to leave ;o)

But in the meantime, we shouldn't forget... we have the first card challenge for September over at Get Creative!!!

This time, we challenge you to make a card based on the following picture:

So here's the card that I made:

The main inspiration was, obviously, the colour combo. But then I was also inspired by the layout of the photo. I placed the flower where the mirror is, the sentiment and the banner where the furniture is, the birds where the lamps are. The circles around the mirror inspired the dotty background.

I wanted to give dimension to the flower. So I stamped it six times for six levels and for each level I was cutting more petals of the flower. A close-up so you can get an idea:

The brad that I used in the middle of the flower was originally yellow. As I didn't have a white brad at the size that I wanted, I took the yellow one, inked it with white ink and covered it with white embossing powder. Once the powder was melted and before it cooled down, I covered it with white embossing powder and melted it again. I repeated one more time and the white brad was ready! This is a very good trick to change the colour of metallic embellishments that you have.

So that's all from me now... Come over at Get Creative for amazing inspiration by the design team and to see the present that the challenge winner will get! You have until September 29th to participate with your cards.

Hugs,
Anastasia
