New decoration

Good morning!

I used to avoid pink colour as much as I could, now I'm stuck with it. And when I decided to change my living room decoration, I knew it is a new love that is going to last for some time.

So now I've gone from my previously favourite, vibrant and happy colours of red-orange-yellow to smoother, more relaxing colours of white-pink-grey. Talking about some change here!

And since the new challenge blog of Scraps n Pieces asks us for its first challenge to create something with the theme of new, I wanted to scrap this change.

Also Scrapbookers in Greece asks us this month to use mists and masks and that's what I did for the background. And here's the result:

A close-up of the journaling (although it's in Greek, sorry! It just explains the change of colours that I described above):

And a close-up of the mist and mask that I used:

That's all from me for now... Hope you like it!

Anastasia

Supreme Scrap Tournament Round 2

Hello!

Today I wanted to show you the layout and card that I made for round 2 of Supreme Scrap Tournament 2014.

The layout had to be double page again, monochromatic - in the strict sense of the word monochromatic-, black was not allowed, at least one black and white photo and at least on photo split between both pages. Yeap, not an easy challenge!

So after a number of ideas, trials that didn't work etc, this is what I made:

I cut a big heart and title with my Cameo and attached it on both papers with my sewing machine. I coloured a number of heart and arrows wood veneers with white acrylic paint. I used a label maker and transparent tape to write the journal. Both title and journal are from the Monty Pythons song "Always look onthe bright side of life" ;)

And here is a close up:

For the card again we had to make a monochromatic card, also 3D, no black. I went all white as well:

I used favourite Lawn Fawn stamps, heat embossed the with white embossing powder on vellum paper and fussy-cut them all around. I made two slits and used acetate to add the cut images and make them somehow "fly" (don't know how to describe it better!). And here's another picture that might give you a better idea:

Hope you like them and that I make it to round 3!

Hugs,
Anastasia

SST - Layout - 1000 steps from home

A really quick post, as I have so limited time!

I'm going away on a business trip and it might be that I won't be back until Friday, which is the deadline for the Supreme Scrap Tournament. So I had to make a layout before I left... It was the best I could do given the limited time!

So, we had to make a double page layout (my first ever, not a great fan of them I have to admit) with photos from our neighbourhood, up to 1,000 steps from home. And here is what I managed to put together:

I don't like where I live... So as soon as I have some time from work, I'm planning to get away from the city centre for the first time in my life.

And here are the two pages separately:

Hope you like it!

Supreme Scrap Tournament 2014 - ATC Home

So, the Supreme Scrap Tournament 2014 has started!

For this first week, for the Card Tournament we have to make an ATC with a quote including home and we are not allowed to used either a home shape, stamp etc or spray inks. I managed to not used any inks at all!

So, here is the very first ATC card I have ever made. Let me tell you, trying to create something in such a small area was quite challenging!

...But I was quite lucky. Having just returned from a business trip - and about to leave for the next one tomorrow, as soon as I saw the quote I knew that would be what I would work on. And while I was searching my travel themed related stash, I found a Bazzill paper that had part of Greece map at almost the right dimensions! I also found an October Afternoon paper inspired by the airport announcements and found just the right part - a flight which I might very well have used to return back home :)

I printed the quote on vellum paper (yes, I spent quite some time to see the font size and where each phrase should be printed!). I glued the vellum on the map and added some stitching with my sewing machine. Distressed the map around the edge and matted with a coordinating cardstock.

Finally I added wood veneers that I coloured with ProMarkers. And here is the result:

I also added Glossy Accent on the small heart... Because, of course, home is where the heart is as well ;)

That's all from me... hope you like it!

Hugs,
Anastasia
